Common questions answered

Got questions about getting plastering work done? Here are clear answers regarding our process, preparation, and timelines.

How long does plaster typically take to dry?

Plaster generally takes between 2 to 5 days to dry out completely, turning from dark brown to an even light pink colour, depending on room ventilation and temperature.

Do you offer free quotes in Plymouth?

Yes, we provide no-obligation consultations and detailed written quotations for all domestic and commercial projects throughout Plymouth and nearby areas.

How should I prepare the room before you arrive?

We ask that furniture is either removed or moved to the centre of the room, and breakable items taken down. We bring extensive floor protection and dust sheets to keep everything clean.

Can you plaster over textured or Artex ceilings?

Yes, we regularly cover dated Artex finishes. Depending on the depth of the texture, we either scrape, bond, and reskim or overboard with new plasterboard for a completely flat result.

Are you fully insured for private and commercial work?

Absolutely. We hold full public liability insurance to provide complete peace of mind while working in your home or premises.

When can I paint the newly plastered surface?

You should wait until the plaster is uniformly pale pink with no damp patches. Always apply a mist coat (watered-down emulsion) first before painting top coats.
